Clipboard Message Center
|
Supplies:
Close to My Heart Artboard (these clipboards are perfect for altering
and are approximately 14 1/2 x 12 1/2 inches. You may order them at: www.tracy.myctmh.com)
My Reflections Paper packet (these samples use Caprice and More to Adore)
Ribbon
Solo "N" stamp set
Just Blooms Paper Flowers
Brads/buttons
Cork Tile, Calendar, and notepad
Directions:
- Remove the clip on the clipboad with a screwdriver. Make sure you
keep the nuts and bolts in a safe place.
- Cut an 8 x 12 piece of paper of one pattern and a 5 1/2 x 12 piece
of a 2nd pattern (I used Close to My Heart's More to Adore paper, and
Caprice paper but you can use any papers you would like!). I left a
border around the edge of the clipboard so I didn't have to piece
together papers since the clipboards are larger than 12x12. Round
2 edges of each piece of paper and layer on the clipboard. You can use
Modge Podge to adhere it if you'd like. On one I just used Tombow
adhesive and it seemed to work fine (just don't use a glue stick!).
- Add a strip of contrasting cardstock 7/8 x 12 where the 2
papers meet. I added a piece of ribbon on this piece with 2 brads on
the end (attached with glue dots).
- Print out the calendar (I made my own. Email me at tracy@myctmh.com
if you would like the calendar I used). Cut out the months so that
they are 5 1/2" wide and 3 1/4" tall. Mount on a piece of
cardstock and staple at the top. Add the calendar to the top left of
the clipboard.
- I stamped the Solo "N" and glued it chipboard and cut it
out. I stamped the word "notes" using the tiny
typewriter alphabet set and made a little tab on the side of the
"n." I think the tab was about 1 1/2" inches long and
about 1" wide (then fold in half). Add some fun paper flowers
near the "n"...it looks really cute to have 3 flowers
instead of the single flower in the picture.
- For the bottom of the message center, attach a sticky note pad or
any other desired note pad. For the cork, I bought a package of 4 cork
sheets that was thicker than cork you buy on the rolls (it is nice to
have it thicker). The cork sheets were 12x12 so I scored it with my
cutting knife and it just snapped where I scored it and made nice
clean breaks so it looks good. I made the pieces 4x6 inches (same size
as the notepads) and I could get 6 pieces out of each cork tile. Just
glue them on.
- Re-attach the clip at the top. Tip: Hold the clip open to get it to
lay back on the board flat as you screw the nuts and bolts back on.
These message centers are so fun and easy to make. Enjoy!
