Paper Baskets

baby basket.JPG (25163 bytes) These adorable baskets can be whipped up in a jiffy! They are perfect for Easter, Mother's Day, baby or wedding shower favorites and more. I'm sure you can dream up many uses for these cute paper baskets. Here's how:

Supplies:

6x6 inch piece 1 1/4"x 8" strip and of cardstock
5 3/4" inch piece of background and texture paper (if desired)
adhesive
stamps to decorate

Instructions:

1. Glue the square piece of B&T to the 6x6 inch cardstock square.

2. If you would like to randomly stamp a design on the handle or the patterned paper, do so now.

3. Score the square every two inches. Then turn the square 90 degrees and score it every two inches again. This creates 9 equal parts.

4. With your scissors, cut two of the scored lines just to the middle section (1/3 of the square per cut), top and bottom only, but NOT the sides. You should now have four 2" slits in your square.

5. Bring the two outermost squares over the middle square to form one side of the basket.

6. Place one end of the handle strip on the inside of the middle square and fasten.

7. Repeat on the other side and you're done! I like to add a stamped image on one or both sides of the basket to decorate it to fit your theme.
