Winter Survival Kit
Whoever thought that paint cans could be this fun? Grab an empty paint can
from your local paint or hardware store and turn it into a cute gift giving
container! This sample is a Winter Survival Kit, but the possibilities are
endless...a baby survival kit filled with baby items; a birthday in a can kit,
filled with fun birthday paraphernalia, a teacher's survival kit...and the ideas
go on. Here's how:

Supplies:
1 empty paint can (this sample is a quart size can...use a quart or gallon
can depending on what you want to fill it with)
Cardstock
Stamps
Goodies to fill the can
Directions:
- If the can came with a label, simply remove it.
- Wrap desired paper around the can. In this sample, the paper did not even
completely cover the can. It's up to you. If your can has a handle, cut
holes our where the handles are attached to the sides of the can.
- Add stamped embellishments. This sample has snowflakes stamped on blue
cardstock with a White Daisy ink pad. Snowmen were stamped, colored, cut out
and attached to one side.
- Don't forget to decorate the lid! This can has a winter poem on the lid,
but you could print out any message or even a list of contents. Use a circle
cutter to make cutting the paper for the lid a snap.
- Now just fill it! This winter survival kit contains: a small package of
Kleenex, hand sanitizer, a package of chicken noodle soup mix, a package of
hot chocolate, and several throat lozenges. This all fit in a quart size
can. Let your imagine soar as you plan goodies to fill your winter survival
kit. Enjoy!
